Thoughts and ideas for the new year

Hey guys so it’s almost the new year , hope everyone is doing some reflecting and will be celebrating!

I had some ideas and thoughts going forward as to what to do with this blog. Since I started three years ago I’ve been so humbled to hear all of your thoughts about my writing and you all have helped me grow so much. I’m so thankful there aren’t any words to express it honestly.

I was thinking about maybe expanding a little. Try short stories and essays. I was even thinking of making an instagram dedicated to my poems ? I won’t stop writing my poems but just an idea !

I wanted to get some opinions so please comment with your thoughts and ideas or anything else’s. I love hearing from you guys !

Have a great New Years ❤️

I would love to read a short story by you. So much of your poetry is based upon “in the moment” experiences of certain characters. What led up to this moment? Who were these people before the moment? You definitely have it in you to flesh out the intensity of your poetry into a full fledged story of some great characters. But, whatever you decide, I’ll read it with great anticipation.

I’ve been thinking about Instagram as well, but thinking about the extra work of it makes tired. People keep saying it’s worth it. I thought so too until I recently read the book “Social Media is Bullshit” now I’m not so sure. The author of the book believes your personal website should be your primary focus. That said at some point I might invest some time in instagram., But only after I spend some time building a professional website that links to my blog.

Playing with short stories and essays would be a great way to further explore and develop your talents. You might also consider that whilst your poetry is written largely from the viewpoint of one character you could try and present a dialogue, either as poetry or as a short piece of drama. Good luck in your writing and thank you for providing us all with entertainment and food for thought over the past year. Best wishes for 2019.

I’ve had a lot of fun with writing micro fiction from other bloggers word prompts. It can be quite fun and challenging to come up with story based on a prompt in 99 words, or sometimes fewer. This could be a good way to get into the habit of writing more fiction perhaps. Have a great 2019!

You should go for it. Although I have a poetry site that you have visited, my main blog– loujenhaxmyor.com– has a menu for my poetry, short stories, and a novel– along with my photos and artwork. Sometimes you just feel the need to expand whatever’s on your mind. Have a wonderful day!
